Not All Soaps Are The Same

Washing... We All Do It

We have to wash our skin (among other things like dishes, laundry and home). For many, it is a daily routine. We clean the grime, sweat & bacteria that accumulates on our bodies. Does it matter what we use for that routine chore? ABSOLUTELY!

Skin... Our Largest Organ

Our skin is the first layer of defense against the world. It protects us from the harsh environment we live in. It is also the first part of our body that anyone sees. It is used in many ways to create an instant reflection about who we are. Should we not treat our skin with the upmost care and maintain it the best way we can? ABSOLUTELY!

Natural Soap... It Is Good

I remember the first time I was introduced to the age old soap, true soap, made from natural fats (plant oils in most cases) and lye (NaOH - Sodium Hydroxide). See, I never washed with bar soap, I hated the way it made my skin feel. I felt too squeaky clean & my skin quickly became dry after showering. Still, I wanted to support my friends hobby & used the soap. I was immediately in love.

The shower filled with the wonderful scents of natural essential oils, the sudsie bubbles were luxurious & soft, my skin was moisturized and silky. How could this be?

Soap Not Detergents... There Is A Difference

"In the old days" everyone used soap. It was the only thing we knew to use to clean. As our society became more technologically advanced we thought we could do better by making it synthetically. Detergents were born. While they are cheaper, they are not better. Firstly, many detergents (also referred as surfactants, short for surface active agents) create significant negative environmental impact during production. They also are so effective, they wash everything from your skin, including your bodies own important oils. Finally, but not least, they can leave behind detrimental chemicals on your skin. If it touches your skin it will make its way into your body.

Saponification... Making Soap

Soap is created when an alkaline / caustic material is introduced to fat. The chemical reaction creates micelles. These micelles decreases the surface tension between 2 objects, they are what make water suds. This sudsing action is one of the ways to visibly see the reduction of friction between surfaces. It is this that enables the cleaning action to take place. All the stuff you do not want (sweat, bacteria, food particles, dirt, etc...) on the permanent surface (skin, counter top, clothing, dishes, etc...) are lifted and rinsed away. It is that simple.

Quality Ingredients... Responsible Choices

When choosing our ingredients we thoroughly research their efficacy, environmental impact & source of origination. It is a tireless dedication to creating a positive impact for our customers with the least impact to our planet, our communities & your pocketbook.

Love, love, love the scent

I love the scent of this rosemary lotion. The lotion is substantial enough to be called a cream, yet lighter than the body butters.

Hi Lisa, we're so happy to hear you love the rosemary scent! Sadly, it is being discontinued. Thanks for your lovely review and for choosing Opulent Blends. Enjoy your lotion!

Lovely light scent

This is just the right amount of creamy, not greasy or heavy like so many body butters. The lavender scent is light. I love to use it at night before bed for lavender's calming effects.

Hi Lisa, thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted to hear you enjoy the calming scent and texture of our lavender body butter. Sweet dreams and enjoy the relaxation it brings!

Creamy!

This is soooo creamy but not to sticky thick like so many natural body butters. I love the absence of scent. It's clean and feels so good!

Hi Lisa, we're thrilled to hear you love our Naked Body Butter! It's wonderful to know it feels just right for you. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Rosemary dish soap

This is hands-down, the best dish soap I’ve ever used! I love how clean my dishes are and how clean they feel. They dry beautifully and are always spot free. Don’t worry about the lack of bubbles because this is one dish soap that cleans extremely well without the excessive bubbling. It cleans even the dirtiest and the greasiest of pans. I don’t know how I could ever go back to the dish soap you buy in the store.

Hi Mindy, thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're thrilled to hear you love our rosemary dish soap and how well it works for you. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you again!
